Qualification Description
The BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business is a nationally recognised qualification that reflects the role of individuals in various Business Services job roles, who may have general management accountabilities. These individuals perform complex tasks in specialized fields, undertake technical research and analysis, and often contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area. The qualification is suited to those responsible for supervising and leading a team or work area, including managing staff performance and making staffing decisions.
Units of Competency
The BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business comprises 10 units of competency: 5 core units and 5 elective units.
Core Units:
- BSBCRT611 – Apply critical thinking for complex problem solving
- BSBFIN601 – Manage organisational finances
- BSBOPS601 – Develop and implement business plans
- BSBSUS601 – Lead corporate social responsibility
- BSBTEC601 – Review organisational digital strategy
Award Upon Completion
Students who achieve competency in all required units will be awarded the nationally recognized BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business.
Previous Recognitions
We offer Credit Transfer (CT) to students who provide documentation evidencing the completion of unit(s) of competency through prior formal study. Candidates with prior experience can be assessed based on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Enrollment Pre-Requisites
Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
- Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions); or
- Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
Additionally, successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent is recommended. Relevant work experience will be considered for Recognition of Prior Learning assessments.

Recommended Entry Pathway
It is recommended that students planning to enroll in the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business hold a Diploma of Business or a relevant qualification, or have gained experience in a range of work environments in operational or leadership roles. However, students without the aforementioned qualifications and/or work experience are also eligible to enroll.
Course Details
- Course Duration: 52 weeks full-time study, including term breaks.
- Study Commitment: 20 hours per week, including attendance/participation and directed study. Additional hours of self-directed study may be required.
- Assessment Types: Assessments may include examinations, essays, reports, group tasks, portfolios, and/or presentations.
- Attendance: An individual training plan will be provided upon enrollment, outlining the recommended study timetable and detailing units and assessments.
Delivery & Assessment
We offer blended learning with a combination of face-to-face and online delivery methods for the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business. Face-to-face learning is conducted at our Sydney Campus. Electronic copies of all relevant course materials and assessments will be provided to enrolled students. The primary method of submission for completed assessments will be via email.

Completion of the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business may create a pathway towards higher education qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Business or related degrees.
